Baltimore Orioles Betting Preview

Over on the Orioles’ side, they played the Oakland Athletics in their weekend set. Baltimore lost two of those three Games. Following their shutout Monday win, on Tuesday the Orioles scored three runs in the fourth inning on the way to nine team hits. Adley Rutschman went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Dean Kremer had 7.0 innings with two earned on four hits and four walks.

It’ll be Corbin Burnes in the starting role for the Orioles on Wednesday. Across his six starts this year Burnes is 3-0 with a 2.55 ERA and 35 strikeouts over 35.1 innings. Burnes is 48-27 with a 3.23 ERA in 173 career Games (112 starts).

Yankees vs Orioles Injury Notes

Yankees SP Tommy Kahnle (shoulder) threw 15 pitches against live hitters over the weekend. SP Gerrit Cole (elbow) threw on flat ground Saturday. The session reportedly went very well.

Orioles LF Austin Hays (calf) is showing improvement but hasn’t been able to participate in much physical activity. SP John Means (forearm) will rejoin the rotation later this week.

I’ll take a stab on the Orioles. We should have a pretty good starter matchup regardless, though. Burnes is coming off one earned in 6.0 innings during a no-decision versus Oakland. He’s given up six earned over his last 16.2 innings total. As for Gil, he’ll need a good bounce-back effort here. Gil coughed up five earned in 5.0 innings on six hits and two walks versus the Brewers in his last start. He had just three earned in his previous 10.2 innings, though.

On Tuesday the Orioles got contributions from almost everyone in the lineup—only Ryan Mountcastle (0-for-4) went hitless. Following a great start from Kremer, the bullpen cleaned up on 2.0 innings, one hit, no earned, no walks and four Ks. I like Baltimore to keep it rolling on Wednesday.
