Ballon d’Or 2024: How much money does the winner get?
The Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris throws open its doors on Monday night to welcome the best of the soccer world as players, head coaches and executives gather to celebrate the 2024 Ballon d’Or award ceremony aka the Soccer Oscars.
Monday’s ceremony will be the 68th edition of the awards ceremony and this year founders France Football have teamed up with UEFA for an event celebrating the best in the Game based on performances over the season, from August 1, 2023, to July 31, 2024.
Over the course of the evening, ten different awards will be handed out and this year’s ceremony will be missing two key names as for the first time in a decade, neither Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo have been included in the shortlist of 30 players nominated for the Men’s Player of the Season award with Real Madrid striker Vini Jr and Manchester City’s Rodri the two players expected to be in contention for this award.

Prize money for a Ballon d’Or win
For the Ballon d’Or winners there is no financial reward linked to the award, however many top players now have it written into their contracts that they will earn a hefty bonus if they ever win the Ballon d’Or.
The only official perk for winners is a lifetime ticket to future Ballon d’Or ceremonies.
