The San Francisco Giants and the Atlanta Braves meet Thursday in MLB action from Truist Park. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this Game. Here’s a Atlanta Braves vs San Francisco Giants Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The San Francisco Giants will send out Logan Webb for the start here and Webb is 6-6 with a 3.12 ERA and 97 strikeouts this season. In his last five starts against Atlanta, Webb is 1-1 with a 3.34 ERA and 28 strikeouts. Charlie Morton will start for the Braves and is 5-4 with a 3.89 ERA and 87 strikeouts this season. San Francisco Giants Recap

The San Francisco Giants will look to bounce back after taking one on a chin in a 3-1 loss to the Braves in Wednesday’s matchup, evening the series up at one win apiece. The loss put the Giants’ series win streak at stake after knocking off the Dodgers and Cubs over the last week and a half.

Giants Looking To Keep Momentum Going

Thairo Estrada has 68 hits along with a team-high 9 home runs and 39 RBIs while also chipping in 14 doubles. Michael Conforto has 51 hits with 9 home runs, 9 doubles and 29 RBIs while Matt Chapman has 78 hits of his own alongside 22 doubles with 11 homers, 40 RBIs and 7 stolen bases. Chapman also has the dubious distinction of leading the Giants with 86 strikeouts this season.

Why the San Francisco Giants will win

  • The Braves have lost nine of their last 10 games as favorites against National League opponents following a win.
  • The Giants have won four of their last six games as underdogs against NL East opponents.
  • The Braves have failed to cover the run line in each of their last 10 games as favorites against National League opponents following a win.
  • The Giants have covered the run line in each of their last seven games at Truist Park following a road loss.

Atlanta Braves Recap

The Atlanta Braves will try to add on to their win on Wednesday to take the set from the Giants after a strong start from Chris Sale. The win gave the Braves a chance at back-to-back series wins after taking down the Pittsburgh Pirates last weekend.

Braves Trying To Wake Up Their Offense

Marcell Ozuna leads the Braves with 92 hits including 21 home runs and 67 RBIs while Orlando Arcia has 18 doubles and Ozzie Albies has a team-high 23 doubles, logging 78 hits as well this season. Ronald Acuna Jr. has a team-high 16 stolen bases as well this season but is out for the season with a torn ACL. Matt Olson has 19 doubles, 12 home runs and 41 RBIs with a team-high 97 strikeouts and Austin Riley has 15 doubles with a pair of triples.

  • The Braves have won 11 of their last 12 night games against NL West opponents following a win.
  • The Braves have covered the run line in seven of their last eight Thursday night games against teams that held a losing record.

Atlanta Braves vs San Francisco Giants Prediction

I’m on the under here. I think this has potential to be a bit of an under-the-radar pitcher’s duel. Sure, Logan Webb’s pitched his better baseball at home over the course of his career, but he’s still been solid in a lot of his recent outings. On the other side, Charlie Morton has allowed just one run in his last three home starts combined and has been pitching pretty well in his own right and both offenses have had a tendency to be inconsistent with the production at times this season. Give me the under.
