The Philadelphia Phillies and the Atlanta Braves meet Sunday in MLB action from Truist Park. Here’s an Atlanta Braves vs Philadelphia Phillies prediction. This will be the final installment in a three-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the Game.

Philadelphia Phillies Betting Preview

In their last series the Phillies played the Chicago Cubs. Philadelphia won the first two installments 6-4 and 5-3 before a 10-2 loss Thursday. Philly bounced back with an 8-6 win over the Braves. In Game two Philadelphia could only score in the third inning during a 5-1 loss. Starter Ranger Suarez gave up five earned in 5.0 innings on six hits and two walks.

Michael Mercado will take the mound for the start on Sunday for the Phillies. This year Mercado is 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA in the first two Games of his career (one start).

Atlanta Braves Betting Preview

Over on the Braves’ side, they played three games versus the San Francisco Giants this past week. Atlanta won 3-1 in the Wednesday matchup but otherwise took losses 5-3 and 4-2. In the Saturday game the Braves jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one inning and cruised the rest of the way. Spencer Schwellenbach lasted 6.0 innings with one earned on seven hits and no walks in the starter slot.

It’ll be Reynaldo Lopez in the starter role for the Braves on Sunday. This year Lopez is 6-2 with a 1.83 ERA in 15 starts. Lopez is 45-51 with a 4.04 ERA in 256 games (112 starts).

Atlanta Braves vs Philadelphia Phillies Prediction

I’ll stay with Atlanta. Lopez isn’t pitching too badly lately. In his last three starts combined Lopez is 2-0 with four earned runs in 14.1 innings total. As for Mercado, he’s coming off a good outing with 5.0 innings and one earned run in a win over the Cubs.

On Saturday the Braves got two hits apiece from Jarred Kelenic, Ozzie Albies and Marcell Ozuna, but no one else had a hit. It was a strange offensive evening but everything worked out well. It’d be nice to see Atlanta spread the wealth at the plate a little more Sunday, but I think they’ll be fine regardless.
