Apple TV+ and MLS team up for behind-the-scenes docuseries on 2024 season
Apple TV+ and Major League Soccer (MLS) have announced a first-of-its-kind, all-access docuseries offering special insight into the ever-evolving world of soccer in North America, produced in partnership with award-winning filmmakers Box to Box Films, who have previously produced Apple’s “Make or Break” and “Formula 1: Drive to Survive”.
Unprecedented access to MLS players, coaches and teams
The eight-part, panoramic documentary, which is currently in production, will give both long-time and new fans alike a never-before-seen insider’s view into MLS and will shine a spotlight on the biggest moments of the 2024 season, which you will also be able to follow from start to finish on AS USA. With unprecedented access to players, coaches and teams, the series will take fans through the most compelling storylines, defining moments and captivating personalities of the 2024 MLS season, from preseason all the way to the 2024 MLS Cup final.
In 2023, Apple and MLS kicked off a 10-year partnership and launched MLS Season Pass, an all-inclusive subscription service available on the Apple TV app that allows fans in more than 100 countries and regions to watch every MLS match in one convenient place with no blackouts, exclusive content and more detailed coverage than ever before. This new Apple TV+ docuseries will offer an in-depth look at MLS to viewers around the world, who will be able to follow Lionel Messi’s first full season with Inter Miami up close.
“Messimania” shows no signs of slowing down in the U.S.
The currently untitled Major League Soccer docuseries follows Apple’s “Messi Meets America,” a six-part documentary released in October also produced in association with MLS, featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the Argentina captain as he made his long-awaited debut in Leagues Cup and Major League Soccer in 2023. It will also come after the upcoming “Messi’s World Cup: The Rise of a Legend,” the first official and definitive account of Messi’s incredible career with the Argentina national team and his five FIFA World Cup appearances. That will be available to watch from 21 February.
