Anya Taylor-Joy slammed for promoting ‘starvation’ in corset at ‘Dune: Part Two’ premiere
Fans believe Anya Taylor-Joy is promoting “starvation” after flaunting her disappearing waist in a corset.
The “Menu” star shared behind-the-scenes photos of her fitting with Maison Margiela ahead of the “Dune: Part Two” premiere Sunday and included a black-and-white image that showed how slim she’s become.
Taylor-Joy’s Instagram followers immediately appeared divided by the look, as some called her out for sensationalizing eating disorders while others defended her thin frame.
“Can we not normalize starvation?” asked one user.
“Rough. Expected better from you tbh. Thinness isn’t chic,” shared another.
“I believe you’re remarkable individuals and a positive representation of humanity,” wrote a third follower. “Nonetheless, the content being promoted through this imagery may not be conducive to well-being.”
Another warned Taylor-Joy, 27, against posting photos such as this one because “people will use this as starvation inspo.”
Others merely called out the “negative” commenters for not allowing a woman to be “free.”
“She’s not promoting anything, dude, let a woman be free. If she likes it good, if you don’t, it’s perfectly fine,” wrote one defender.
“You have the right not to wear it, just as she has the right to wear anything she likes. We don’t have to be all dramatic about it…”

Another echoed the sentiment, writing, “Everyone wants more freedom for women and for them to be more empowered, and when she dresses the way she wants all of a sudden all the women are against her. Check your hypocrisy a little bit.”
Reps for Taylor-Joy star didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
The “Queen’s Gambit” alum’s final look at the starry New York City event featured a sparkling gold overlay that sat beneath a sheer, halter-style black gown.
