Actress Nargis allegedly assaulted by husband Inspector Majid | The Express Tribune

Film actress Nargis has reportedly been assaulted by her husband, Inspector Majid Bashir, in Lahore’s Defence area.

According to police, the couple engaged in a dispute over financial matters, leading to the alleged incident of domestic violence.

Despite the altercation, Nargis visited the police station late at night but has not yet filed a formal complaint.

Police stated that they have not received any request for a case from Nargis's family, including her brother, who claims that her husband subjects her to daily abuse.

“The police are prepared to take action should a formal complaint be lodged,” said an officer.

Nargis, who married Inspector Bashir several years ago, stepped away from the Entertainment industry to manage her beauty salon.

The former actress, known in the entertainment world as Ghazala Idris, was reported to have been badly beaten.

Her brother Khurram alerted authorities by calling the emergency number 15, prompting a police response in Defence.

Khurram has called for action against his brother-in-law, asserting that Inspector Bashir routinely mistreats Nargis.
