Super Bowl LVIII is right around the corner which means that the party atmosphere is hotting up as we tumble towards arguably the biggest event in the American sporting calendar. However, will the temperature be as hot as our expectations?

Allegiant Stadium is the host venue for the crunch match between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers in a replay of 2020′s final, which on that occasion saw the Mahomes-Kelce-Reid trio take the victory.

Super Bowl LVIII weather prediction

The ever-reliable weather.com does what it says on the URL, and provides the weather forecast for the coming week. Now we are officially in Super Bowl week, we can have a look at what Mother Nature has in store for Sin City on Sunday.

It would seem that he/her who controls the clouds is indeed a fan of the sport, as temperature are set to float at around 67ºF during the day with a “mainly sunny sky” looking down on the fans as they congregate outside the stadium. The winds are described as “light and variable”, posing a threat only to the leaves on the road.

As for the night, the winds are not set to change and the temperature will drop to a low of 47ºF with a partly clear sky.

Is it going to rain at Super Bowl LVIII?

The chance of precipitation on the night sits at a mere 3% chance at the time of writing, and barring a hurricane caused by the sudden rotation of Earth’s polar axis, that number should not budge from where it is. We will have a 69% humidity rate and for you selenophiles out there, a waxing crescent moon.

But do not fear! Allegiant Stadium is a dome arena, meaning that the roof will indeed be closed on the night. This means that temperatures will be regulated internally, keeping all of the players, coaches, fans and staff at a perfect temperature all night long, with no chance of rain dripping through a panel gap in the roof. While the roof will deprive us of a starry view above the action, it will undoubtedly add to the already fantastic atmosphere that we can expect for the game!

Who’s going to win the Super Bowl?

The odds have the Super Bowl as an even affair, with the San Francisco 49ers making a late surge as favourites to snatch the Vince Lombardi trophy and avenge their 2020 defeat that still weighs heavily on the Californian coast. But remember, the Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles in last year’s Super Bowl, meaning they are one step away from becoming the first NFL team to retain their crown since Tom Brady’s New England Patriots in the 2004 season.

San Francisco will be looking to win their sixth Super Bowl Championship and their first since way back in 1994, while Patrick Mahomes and co. will try to lift their fourth title and their third since 2019, continuing the period of domination in the sport over the recent past.
