Play was suspended due to darkness at the 2024 Cognizant Classic on Friday evening, so several players need to finish round two before the PGA Tour event’s round-three tee times can be announced.

When will Cognizant Classic play start on Saturday?

In a statement, the PGA Tour said: “R2 will resume Saturday at 7 a.m [ET]. The 36-hole cut will be made after the round ends and players will be re-paired. R3 will begin at approximately 8:15 a.m. in threesomes off No. 1.”

The cut line at the PGA National Members Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, is projected to be -2. This article will be updated with Saturday’s tee times and threesomes when they are confirmed.

Who still has to finish round two at the Cognizant Classic?

According to the PGA Tour, 11 players were unable to complete round two on Friday: Japan’s Ryo Hisatsune, Spain’s Jorge Campillo, the Philippines’ Rico Hoey, and the Americans Max Greyserman, Chan Kim, Chandler Phillips, Tyler Collet, Jacob Bridgeman, Chase Johnson and Jimmy Stanger.

However, only 10 will return on Saturday as Philips has withdrawn.

Who’s leading the way so far at the Cognizant Classic 2024?

In only his second PGA Tour event since returning from a three-year injury absence, the United States’ Bud Cauley is the unexpected leader in Florida, after ending round two with consecutive birdies to move to -11.

Cauley leads compatriot Austin Eckroat and South Africa’s Garrick Haggo by one shot.

The defending champion, America’s Chris Kirk, is currently at -5, while the tournament’s top-ranked player, Northern Ireland’s world No. 2 Rory McIlroy, is at -8.
