While we’re getting ourselves ready for Summer Sonic Bangkok, which will take place on 24-25 August this year, there’s even more exciting news for all EDM heads. One of the most famous – and arguably, the best – music festivals in the world, Tomorrowland is set to take place in Thailand in 2026, with ticket sales details to be announced soon.

Tomorrowland is an annual EDM festival held in Antwerp, Belgium since 2005. Over the years, it has garnered considerable success and reputation and was voted as the Best Musical Event of the year for five years in a row at the International Dance Music Awards. Each year, Tomorrowland sells over 500,000 tickets, usually sold out within one day, and Thailand is set to replicate that success come 2026.

Tomorrowland’s huge popularity has also encouraged several spin-offs. For instance, TomorrowWorld in the United States, Tomorrowland Brazil, and Tomorrowland Winter in France.

A government spokesperson has confirmed Tomorrowland will take place in Thailand in 2026, with the exact province and location to be announced later. The festival will probably stay on for ten consecutive years. This makes Thailand the first ASEAN country to welcome the global festival.

As Singapore saw huge economic gains following Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concerts exclusively in Singapore, it seems that maybe Thailand is looking to replicate similar success with a fresh host of music events.

In the Thai government’s effort to bring in many more cultural festivals to the Land of Smiles, the spokesperson of the Prime Minister’s Office has also hinted about discussions with the board members behind Formula One Group, Formula E, and Art Basel.

The original Tomorrowland in Belgium will take place between 19-29 July 2024.
