With Mother’s Day just around the corner, here are five of our favourite celebratory menus to treat your beloved family member to.

The Merchants

For a more traditional Mother’s Day feast, Forty-Five’s The Merchants is serving up one of the best Chinese menus this weekend. Designed for a table of four, the meal features luxurious dishes including double-boiled fish maw with white cabbage and bamboo pith, braised Kanto sea cucumber with scallion, wok-fried river shrimps with Longjing, steamed Antarctic cod fish with rattan peppers, hand-shredded chicken with scallion soy sauce, braised asparagus with Jinhua ham and stir-fried rice cakes with crab meat. Conclude your meal with deep fried souffle egg white with red bean paste and banana as well as mango pomelo soup.

CulinArt 1862

This weekend, chef Stanley Wong’s CulinArt 1862 is preparing a dinner sharing menu for Mother’s Day. Though it’s just a four-course menu, patrons can enjoy unlimited starters, which include char-grilled Fremantle octopus, Stracciatella and apricots and tuna ribbons. Once you’ve indulged enough in these delightful apPetisers, choose from two mains that’ll feed two to three: a lobster thermidor or a grilled porterhouse steak, either coming with two choices of sides ranging from sautéed baby spinach, green beans, crushed potatoes and a hearty mac n’ cheese. Finally, wrap up the night with the restaurant’s signature dessert presentation.

Gaylord

A staple of Indian cuisine since 1972, Gaylord’s perfect for a Mother’s Day celebration if you’re looking to depart from the more conventional western cuisines. On May 12, the restaurant is offering both a buffet brunch and a dinner tasting menu, both available in vegetarian or non-vegetarian options. The lunch menu includes delicacies such as pani poori, lamb seekh kebab and lamb rogan josh, while the dinner menu offers Malabar crab taco, truffle butter chicken and kadai prawns. As a cherry on top, all mothers will also enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbles, with a henna artist also present throughout the day.

Tokyolima

Blending Peruvian and Japanese culinary traditions together, Nikkei cuisine can be a playful twist for this Mother’s Day, and at Tokyolima, you can enjoy just that. A special menu available this weekend features refreshing dishes including Causa Abierta with yellow chilli causa, prawn tartare and avocado mousse, edamame hummus and classic ceviche. Mains range from Arroz Con Mariscos, Picanha rump steak with salsa verde and Pollo A La Brasa. Top all that off with a dessert of Oye Mami, which combines white chocolate mousse with homemade honeycomb crumble.

Morton’s

A good steak is always welcome for celebrations, and this year Morton’s has put together a special two-course Mother’s Day menu, available from May 10 to 12. Starters include Caesar salad and center-cut iceberg wedge salad, followed by mains of A5 Japanese Wagyu filet and cold-water lobster tail. Finish off with classic Morton’s desserts such as their carrot cake or hot chocolate cake. Of course, there’s also a special cocktail for the day: the Lavender Bouquet blends Hendrick’s gin with Grand Marnier, zesty lemon juice and a touch of lavender syrup.
