Where can you buy the Manchester United x Stone Roses collection?

Adidas have teamed up with Manchester United and iconic local musical heroes Stone Roses to launch a special collection inspired by the artwork from the band’s early releases.

Band member John Squire was the creative force behind the distinctive paint splattered covers that featured on singles such as Elephant Stone, I Wanna Be Adored, She Bangs the Drum along with the band’s seminal debut eponymously titled album.

It’s however the tenth track on the album that became famously linked with Manchester United after club captain in the 2000′s Gary Neville felt it was time for a new ‘walkout anthem’. The club previously used the theme from Rocky and as Neville states: “he was from Philadelphia and not Manchester”.

This is the One was chosen by the club and to this day, greets the Red Devils as they take to the pitch at Old Trafford.

To commemorate the link between the club and the band who only released two studio albums in their brief career, Adidas have launched a special collection of pre-Game, training and casual wear all bearing the trademark splattered paint and Stone Roses lemon logo.

The collection is now available via the Old Trafford Megastore, MUFC and Adidas online stores.

The Stone Roses played what appears to be the final of a series of farewell gigs in 2017 with singer Ian Brown stating: “Don’t be sad that it’s over, be happy that it happened”.
