Celtic left-back Greg Taylor has been a consistent name in Brendan Rodgers’ team this season.

In the league, he has missed just three Games throughout the campaign and has proved ever-dependable.

Some will question his level (and perhaps rightly so) but one cannot get away from his reliability.

The 26-year-old is now a senior member of the Celtic squad. He is well into his fifth year at the club but one man who overshadows his service is James Forrest.

The veteran winger has come into the team over the past few weeks and more than proved his worth.

His brace at Dens Park last Sunday was nothing short of pivotal and versus the Jambos at the weekend, he remained effective despite not getting on the scoresheet.

One assumes the 32-year-old will get the nod in the upcoming Glasgow derby given his experience in the fixture and ability to make a difference at crucial times.

Few fans would be against such a happening, and Taylor has recently been full of praise for the attacker.

He said: [Glasgow Times] “What a player and what a guy. James is a good friend, a great team-mate and I am so pleased for him.

“He is the model professional and someone who has worked so hard over the course of the season.

“James was in a different situation. He has loads of experience at the club but probably less opportunities than he would have wanted.

“But when the Business end of the campaign comes around, he is one that everyone knows you can hang your hat on.

“James has been brilliant since coming into the team.”
