Westerly Hospital Wednesday Wellness series returns – in-person or virtual

After a hiatus due to the pandemic, Westerly Hospital’s popular Wednesday Wellness series is making a comeback.

Caregivers are excited to bring back a series of lectures on Health matters that impact all of us, and the free events will include both limited in-person seating and an option to attend virtually.

Three events are currently scheduled for November and December. The topics will include bladder Health, back pain, and how to make your home a safer place. All events will be held in the Henry J. Nardone Conference Room at Westerly Hospital, and they will start at 5 pm. Everyone attending in person will be required to wear a mask.

The first three events are:

Nov. 30:

Understanding Bladder Health for Men and Women, presented by George Turini, MD, a urologist at Westerly Hospital. Dr. Turini will discuss prevention and treatment of urinary symptoms that affect men and woman as they age.

Dec. 7:

Suffering from Back Pain? presented by Woo Lin Lee, MD, medical director pain management, Westerly Hospital. Dr. Lee will discuss the causes of back pain and ways to treat your symptoms.

Dec. 14:

Preventing Falls: Making your Home a Safer Place, presented by physical therapist Shelby Buck. Buck will present safety tips on ways to avoid falls at home and ways to improve your balance.
