USMNT midfielder Johnny Cardoso officially joins Real Betis
Real Betis have announced the signing of USMNT player Johnny Cardoso.
The 22-year-old midfielder joins the Andalusian side from Brazilian club SC Internacional on a deal until 2029.
Starting out at Internacional
Born in September 2001, Cardoso started out in the underage teams at Internacional, where he would later go on to make his first-team debut in 2019.
Betis have monitored the player for a while, and believe he is the right type of profile to join Manuel Pellegrini’s Los Verdiblancos squad.
US international
Cardoso stands out for his power but also for his Game intelligence and he can operate as a No 6 as well as further forward.
He has played for the USMNT team on nine occasions.
