Two-legged dog gifted custom Mercedes-Benz wheelchair in heartwarming video
A dog missing his hind legs was gifted a Mercedes-Benz wheelchair, and social media is loving the heartwarming moment.
The 2-year-old pup named Bunny was found in April by dog-rescue service the Animal Pad during one of its philanthropic operations in Mexico.
Bunny was hit by a car, which resulted in injuries so severe that she had to have surgery to remove her back legs — after which her owners abandoned her.
But dog rescuer Henry Friedman made sure Bunny wasn’t neglected, caring for her and making sure she had a full recovery.
Friedman posted an adorable video on his Instagram sharing what he called “one of my favorite rescue stories of all time,” which, of course, is about Bunny.
The video shows Bunny being rescued and waddling around on her front two legs to get around, with Freidman sharing that the dog will need a wheelchair in order to move about properly.
He explains that one comment on the original video of the rescue said that Bunny “deserves the Mercedes-Benz of wheelchairs” — which is where the story picks up.
Friedman thought the comment was funny yet brilliant, so he reached out to the car company to share Bunny’s remarkable story as well as the wheelchair idea.
Mercedes-Benz loved the idea — so much so that they gifted Bunny a new set of wheels.
The car brand collaborated with Eddie’s Wheels, a company that creates custom dog wheelchairs, for the snappy new wheels for Bunny.
A follow-up video, which has amassed 10 million likes, shows the emotional moment Bunny got her wheels and was able to fully run around for the first time.
The all-black wheelchair’s harness was embroidered with “Mercedes-Benz” on the front and came with a gold bow and a license plate on the back that reads “BUNNY’S BENZ.”
“BUNNY’S BENZ!! And it’s SOOO much more than just a badass wheelchair
These wheels will open Bunny’s world significantly and make her much more adoptable!” Friedman captioned the video.
Bunny strolled and rolled through the streets and got a lot of love from passersby, and even got the hang of going down the stairs.
Now, Bunny is available for a loving home to adopt her.
