Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a fee to sign Welsh forward Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest, 90min understands.

90min revealed earlier on deadline day Spurs were growing in confidence that a deal could be struck to sign the 22-year-old and sources have now confirmed an agreement has been reached between the two clubs.

Spurs have committed to a fee of around £45m to bring Johnson to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before Friday's transfer deadline.

Manager Ange Postecoglou identified Johnson as his preferred replacement for Harry Kane, who left the club for Bayern Munich this summer in a deal worth over £86m.

Johnson is now heading for a medical ahead of becoming Spurs' seventh senior signing of the summer.

Spurs are keen to conclude several transfers before the deadline and are looking to add both a central midfielder and a centre-back.

Chelsea's Conor Gallagher is a key target in midfield but much could hinge on the future of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who is free to leave the club but yet to agree a departure.

In defence, a £20m bid for Bournemouth's Lloyd Kelly has been knocked back, with the Cherries unimpressed with both the fee and the timing of Spurs' offer.

Tosin Adarabioyo of Fulham is another target in defence but the 25-year-old is currently favouring a switch to Monaco.
