Tottenham Hotspur could step up their historical interest in Wolves' Pedro Neto in their search for a new winger this summer, 90min understands.

Spurs have added an array of wide players to their squad since the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as head coach. Manor Solomon and Brennan Johnson joined on permanent deals last summer, while the club have a £15.5m option to buy Timo Werner at the end of his loan from RB Leipzig.

Sources have told 90min that Tottenham intend to bring in another winger in time for the 2024/25 season, while they ideally also want to recruit a belated centre forward replacement for Harry Kane.

A player who has long been on Tottenham's radar is 23-year-old Neto, who has also been monitored by rivals Arsenal in recent times. Neto fits the mould of a tricky winger who is capable of playing on either flank as well as up front and would like to play European Football at club level again.

However, Wolves aren't under immediate pressure to sell the Portugal international given his deal doesn't expire until 2027. Given the length of his contract, his profile and age, Wolves would only entertain offers in excess of £55m, while sources claim they could hold out for as high as £65m.

Tottenham also have a long-standing interest in Raphinha, but sources say reports from Spain claiming they made a €70m (£60m) offer to Barcelona during the January window are wide of the mark. The Brazil winger is intent on staying at Barca, meaning club president Joan Laporta would have to inform him he's surplus to requirements in order for a transfer to go through.

Spurs are wary that they need to work on a succession plan for club captain Son Heung-min, who turns 32 later this year. The South Korean will be the subject of interest from the Saudi Pro League this summer despite downplaying interest in moving to the Middle East in the past.

Son has demonstrated his versatility this season, beginning the campaign in his usual left wing role before playing much of the autumn as a number nine. Following Richarlison's return to fitness in December having undergone pelvic surgery, Son reverted to his usual wide role. Neto has been doing similar with Wolves, playing as both a lead striker as well as on the right side behind one.

If Son is still at Tottenham by the end of the 2024/25 season, he will be due a testimonial having completed ten years of service at the club. Previous skipper Hugo Lloris qualified for one prior to his January move to LAFC in MLS, while Spurs legends Ledley King and Bill Nicholson are the only former players to have been honoured in such a way in the 21st century.
