Today's Best NHL Player Props & Odds: Dylan Larkin lights up Montreal | Pickswise
As the 2023-24 regular season winds down, our NHL prop bet picks have been a great way to approach the matchups, especially with some teams being more motivated than others. We’re now on a 6-1 run and have cashed 25 of our past 32 NHL prop picks, so it’s time to finish off these last few days the same way. There was a theme of shots on goal for our last 2 picks that both hit, so that’s where we’re going to focus our NHL prop bet picks for today as well. Along with our best NHL predictions, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.
Dylan Larkin over 3.5 shots on goal (+100)
Odds available at time of publishing. Playable to -115.
As promised, we’re diving right in with a shots on goal prop, and interestingly enough, we have 2 skaters in the same game! First up is Dylan Larkin, as he and the Detroit Red Wings look to keep their Stanley Cup playoff hopes alive. They should feel confident in what they can control, as they face the Montreal Canadiens in both of their last 2 games. Tonight’s matchup will be on home ice, which has us loving Larkin even more.
Of course, it doesn’t hurt that the Habs have yet again been one of the worst teams when it comes to allowing the opposition to get shots on goal. They allow the 3rd-most shots per Game, and Larkin has certainly been a part of that. In his 2 Games against them this season, he has recorded 9 shots. In fact, over his last 5 Games against Montreal, he’s had 4 or more shots in 4 of them, including a 7-shot performance. Therefore, that’s how we’re going to begin our NHL prop bet picks for today.

Cole Caufield over 3.5 shots on goal (-125)
Odds available at time of publishing. Playable to -140.
On the opposite side of the ice from Larkin will be Cole Caufield, who is one of the most promising young skaters in the NHL. Despite being on one of the worst teams, he has already made a name for himself, which is why the Habs locked him up with an 8-year contract extension worth nearly $8 million per year. Although the Wings are in the race for the final Eastern Conference Wild Card spot, they too have struggled when it comes to giving the opposition chances.
They aren’t far behind Montreal in that regard, allowing the 6th-most shots per game. That’s why we’ve seen Caufield thrive against Detroit this season, recording 4 shots in each contest. He’s also had 4 or more shots in 6 of his last 7 games, so the consistency is clearly there. The Canadiens may not be in the postseason, but Cole Caufield can still pad his stats, which is why he is also a target of your NHL prop bet picks for today.
