The winter signings set to face former clubs in Liga MX

In the busy Liga MX winter transfer window, few imagined that Toro Fernández would end up at Cruz Azul, that Rogelio Funes Mori would join Pumas, or that Chicote Calderón would don the colours of the eternal rivals and move from Chivas to América. Three of the most notable moves will see former teammates face off in the Clausura 2024.

Fernández’s return

March will be the month of the reunions. Fernández, who said he joined Cruz Azul “because of its History”, will return to the Olímpico Universitario to face Pumas on matchday 13 of the season, scheduled for 30 March. At the beginning of the same month, Funes Mori will also return to his former club, when his new club take on Rayados. Finally, on March 16, Calderón will play in the Clásico Nacional on the opposite team, after joining América.
