Tate McRae and The Kid LAROI are young music artists whose relationship has been the talk of the town for the past few months.

The two have been spotted together a few times since January 2024, fuelling speculations that they are dating.

Who are Tate McRae and The Kid LAROI?

Tate McRae is a Canadian singer-songwriter and dancer while the Kid LAROI is an Australian rapper and singer. McRae is an accomplished ballet artist. She shot to international fame with her performance on the reality TV show So You Think You Can Dance (2016).

Though she was professionally making a name as a dancer, McRae has found fame as a singer. As of March 2024, she has two studio albums, one mixtape, two extended plays (EPs) and 35 singles.

Her albums I Used to Think I Could Fly (2022) and Think Later (2023) have been received positively by music critics and fans. Think Later reached No.4 on the Billboard 200 chart.

On the other hand, LAROI, who found worldwide fame with his 2021 single Stay (with Justin Bieber), has so far released one studio album — The First Time (2023). Perhaps one of his most popular songs is Too Much, a 2023 track that he recorded with British rapper Central Cee and K-pop icon Jungkook of BTS.

Both McRae and LAROI were in relationships before their rumoured link-up. The Australian artist dated TikTok iNFLuencer Katarina Deme from 2020 to 2023.

McRae was in a relationship with Columbus Blue Jackets centre Cole Sillinger. They became Instagram official in 2021 but called it quits in 2023. McRae subsequently removed all photos with him from her Instagram.

A photo dump from Mexico: 7 January 2024

The rumours around Tate McRae and the Kid LAROI relationship began in the first week of 2024, when the Canadian artist posted a series of pictures from her vacation in Mexico.

Among the pictures in the carousel was one that was noticed by eagle-eyed fans. It was of McRae taking a selfie before a mirror. She was seen wearing a white shirt, which some commentators claimed belonged to LAROI.

Speculations were rife when LAROI dropped a single smiling-face-with-sunglasses emoji on the post. A user asked if the shirt was his. Obviously, LAROI would not answer.

There was also a video believed to be of LAROI dancing with McRae in a group, which some users claimed was from the Mexico trip.

Restaurant run in LA: 16 January

Tate McRae and the Kid LAROI were seen for the first time officially together by the paparazzi outside the Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Los Angeles. They were reportedly at the establishment for dinner and were seen walking a short distance together outside.

McRae was wearing Adidas track pants and black boots, while LAROI sported a red Indiana University sweatshirt with ripped jeans and Converse sneakers complete with a grey beanie.

At the time, PEOPLE magazine reported it had reached out to representatives of both artists but they had not commented.

An outing at an NHL All-Star Game: 3 February

Citing a source, PEOPLE magazine reported that Tate McRae and the Kid LAROI were seen holding hands at the 2024 NHL All-Star Game.

This was soon after McRae performed at the hockey Game held at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
