The Solheim Cup: a brief history
While Team USA came out on top in five of the first seven Solheim Cups after its foundation in 1990, the tide has turned in recent years. Since triumphing at Rich Harvest Farms in 2009, the United States have lifted the trophy only twice, with their last victory coming in 2017. The Americans won each of the first six editions that took place in the U.S., but since have lost two of the last three, including at Inverness Club in Ohio in 2021.
