The New York Mets and the Seattle Mariners square off Thursday in MLB action from T-Mobile Park. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this Game. Here’s a Seattle Mariners vs NY Mets Prediction.
Starting Pitching Matchup
The New York Mets will send out Jose Quintana for the start here and Quintana is 6-7 with a 3.95 ERA and 94 strikeouts this season. In his last five starts against Seattle, Quintana is 2-1 with a 2.56 ERA and 34 strikeouts. Bryce Miller will start this one for the Mariners and is 8-7 with a 3.62 ERA and 113 strikeouts this season. This will be Miller’s first career start against the Mets.
New York Mets Recap
The New York Mets come into this one looking to keep the momentum going after picking up a 9-1 win in Thursday’s rubber match against the Colorado Rockies. The Mets were able to bounce back from a series loss to the Angels last weekend and add to their makeup win over the Cardinals to start the week.
Mets Looking To Make Late Playoff Push
Pete Alonso has 25 home runs and 63 RBIs with 26 doubles and Francisco Lindor has 28 doubles of his own with 22 home runs and 67 RBIs along with 24 stolen bases. Brandon Nimmo has 66 RBIs and 121 strikeouts while Lindor has a team-high 120 hits and Harrison Bader has 15 stolen bases as well this season.
Seattle Mariners Recap
The Seattle Mariners come into this one looking to try to start this series strong after a sluggish showing against the Detroit Tigers to start the week, failing to build on their series win over the Philadelphia Phillies from last weekend.
Mariners Trying To Hold On In AL West
Entering Thursday, Julio Rodriguez leads the Mariners with 101 hits including a .263 batting average and also has 9 doubles. Cal Raleigh has a team-high 24 home runs along with 69 RBIs and 129 strikeouts. Mitch Haniger also has 11 home runs and 38 RBIs while Rodriguez has 18 stolen bases and 113 strikeouts as well this season. Dylan Moore has 18 doubles with 20 stolen bases and Josh Rojas has 16 doubles also this season.
Seattle Mariners vs NY Mets Prediction
I’m leaning towards the Mariners here, though it’s not one of my favorite Games on the board just because of how inconsistent Seattle’s offense is back to being. That being said, this is a horrible Travel spot for the Mets, who went from Anaheim, to St. Louis for a one Game makeup, then to the altitude at Coors and then without a day off have to fly into Seattle for this one. I think we see a sluggish showing from the Mets here and I’ll take Seattle as a result.
Chris Ruffolo's Free Pick: Seattle -111
