Scott Brown’s Favourite Moment of Success With Celtic
Former Celtic captain and club legend Scott Brown has outlined his favourite moment of success in a green and white hooped jersey.
The head coach of Ayr United admitted in a recent BBC interview that it is difficult to look past Tom Rogic’s last-minute winner in the 2017 Scottish Cup final to secure the Invincible Treble.
As time ticked on at Hampden, Brendan Rodgers’ men were in desperate need of someone to step up.
The Wizard of Oz took the Game by the scruff of the neck, driving past several red shirts before squeezing the ball in at the near post of Joe Lewis’ goal via his weaker right foot.
It has gone down as one of the most iconic goals in Celtic History, and Brown can’t think of a better moment throughout his lengthy 14-year spell at the club. He said: [BBC Sport Scotland] “I’d say Rogic.
“Tom just does what Tom does, doesn’t he?
“He’s a magician with a ball.
“At the time it was unbelievable because I remember us all running down by the corner flag, jumping in with the fans.
“Who knows who got booked but nobody really cared.
“To have that opportunity of winning the first treble, I had never done it before as a player.
“It was unbelievable scenes from the fans and going through the streets and just everything about that whole day.”
Rogic came up with a plethora of memorable moments in Glasgow. He particularly came to the fore against the Dons but Rodgers will hope someone else can step up to the plate this Saturday versus the Pittodrie side.
