Schumacher responds after losing Haas seat for 2023
Mick Schumacher has given his first response to the news that he will be replaced at the Haas F1 team.
It was confirmed that the 23-year-old is to be replaced by Nico Hulkenberg for the 2023 season.
Schumacher leaves after two seasons at the Haas team, with the German driver admitting to his "disappointment" at not extended his F1 contract.
“This is going to be my last race with the Haas F1 team,” Schumacher's statement read.
“I don’t want to hide the fact that I am very disappointed with the decision not to renew our contract.
“Nevertheless, I would like to thank both Haas F1 and Ferrari for giving me this opportunity."

Schumacher: I deserve F1 seat
With the second Haas seat being the final place on the 2023 grid, Schumacher's options for next season are limited, barring any surprises with Logan Sargeant's confirmation at Williams.
The 2020 Formula 2 champion is in the frame for a Mercedes reserve driver role, but Schumacher has set his sights on a full-time F1 return.
"Those years together have helped me to mature both technically and personally. And especially when things got difficult, I realised how much I love this sport," Schumacher added.
“It was at times bumpy but I steadily improved, learned a lot and now know for sure that I deserve a place in Formula 1. The subject is anything but closed for me. Setbacks only make you stronger.
“My fire burns for Formula 1 and I will fight hard to return to the starting grid. PTW [prove them wrong].”
