A mum says she was sʜᴏᴄᴋᴇᴅ after giving birth to quintuplets – because she thought she was having twins. When Oksana Kobletskaya became pregnant, she was overjoyed. Oksana, 36, was already the mother of a 3-year-old daughter, but she and her husband, Sergey, looked forward to welcoming another child into the family. But what was supposed to be a completely normal pregnancy turned into a birth celebrated around the world. Oksana and Sergey never intended to have a large family. They both agreed that having two children would be perfect, and the couple didn’t think they couldn’t afford any more children than that.

While Oksana was getting her ultrasound, she noticed the doctor acting overly excited. And soon he gave her some astonishing news. Oksana said:” When I saw the shock on the doctor’s face, my heart sᴛᴏᴘᴘᴇᴅ for a moment. Then I heard him mumbling something like:’You deserve to get a big house by the sea…’” The doctor explained, “I can clearly see five fetuses, maybe six. It’s hard to say.” It eventually turned out that Oksana was carrying five babies. The surprised look of the doctor who performed the ultrasound and the news that Oksana was carrying five children under her heart shocked  not only the father, but also the medicals  taff of the hospital . The news quickly spread throughout the city.

Oksana said:” Nobody in our family has ever hadit . There was not a single case of that kind. Generally speaking, I didn’t expect it and never anticipated it. No one at the hospital had  witnessed anything similar. But for Oksana and Sergey, the news didn’t just evoke smiles. Oksana recalled :” It almost felt like a nightmare, as if I would wake up at any time .”

She and her husband couldn’t help but be anxious, and they realized they had to  change all of their plans for the future. In the 30th week of her pregnancy, Oksana went to the hospital and prepared to deliver her babies. When she entered the delivery room, eight doctors were waiting there for her. Oksana gave birth to three boys and two girls via caesarean section . All five babies were Healthy , though they were born premature. Their weight ranged from 2.4 pounds to 3.9 pounds. The couple had given names to their babies the same day they were born: Aleksandra, Dariya, Denis, Vladislav and David.

The incredible birth made History. Wherever the proud parents go with their little miracles, people greet their babies with joyful curiosity. The city administration to hand over the keys to a 6-room apartment to a large family. The joy of new housing and help from people was a huge support for the young couple. On her Instagram and Facebook pages, Oksana posts adorable pictures of her ‘five pearls’ and their charming older sister.

PH๏τographer Julia Guseva shared her emotions on Instagram:” Denis, Vlad, David, Sasha and Dasha pleasantly surprised us, because in their 2 months it was easier to work with them than we expected – kids slept sweetly, and we have created a wonderful story of love and friendship, which, I am sure began in a mother’s tummy for them and their parents.”

On the hands of the kids, colored strings are tied so that parents can distinguish them from each other. However, the mother of the quintuplets can do without hints. In the Odessa Five blog, she talks in detail about the character and temperament of each of them.
