Report – New EPL Side Enters Matt O’Riley Transfer Race
A new English Premier League side has emerged in the race to sign Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley.
The Denmark international just had the season of his life, registering 37 goal contributions across all comPetitions.
Summer interest in the 23-year-old is unsurprising, with several clubs in the race to sign him.
Last night, a new one emerged in Leicester City. According to The Scottish Sun, the newly promoted EPL outfit sees O’Riley as a replacement for the departing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who has just completed a £30m move to Chelsea.
Celtic, however, wants over £25m for a player contracted with them until summer 2027.
The Foxes do have the funds to cough up such a fee, but with other sides circling, it remains to be seen whether O’Riley would favour a move to the King Power Stadium over somewhere like Madrid or Milan.
The odds are he wouldn’t, but what is certain is that the former MK Dons man has his head screwed on. O’Riley cares about the mental side of not just Football, but life.
He has a specialised coach who helps him with mindfulness, and Celtic fans will be hoping he urges the attacking midfielder to stay put this summer.
