Pundit Makes Big Prediction For Celtic’s Glasgow Derby Lineup
Former Celtic utility man Charlie Mulgrew has made a big prediction regarding the inclusion of Daizen Maeda in the Hoops’ team for this weekend’s Glasgow derby.
The Japanese winger made a rapid return from a hamstring injury at the weekend against Hearts.
He received raucous applause when he came on despite there being previous fears that his season could be over.
Everyone knows how pivotal Maeda can be against Rangers and that was no more coherent than in his side’s last visit to Ibrox.
The mercurial attacker opened the scoring less than half a minute in, capitalising on a dreadful James Tavernier clearance.
Just over a year earlier, Maeda similarly got this going early on, speedily skinning the right-back and his defensive partner Connor Goldson before clinically slotting past a helpless Allan McGregor.
Although he only came back from his injury at the weekend, Mulgrew reckons the treble-winner will get the nod this Saturday in what is a potential title-deciding derby.
He said: [Sky Sports] “He brings a real intensity in his press and I think that him being back is a great lift.
“I imagine he’ll start the Game and he’s someone who will bring a lot to Celtic.”
