Premier League results matchday 30: this is how the table looks after Man City - Arsenal

Jesus didn’t rise to the occasion but neither did Haaland, whose side drew with Arsenal on an Easter Sunday in the Premier League that was filled with drama in another curious twist to the tale this season.

Easter puns were bouncing round like rabbits and fans were nervous if not a little worried as the Etihad Stadium filled following Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Brighton which meant we would not see a new Premier League leader going into the upcoming Champions League week.

The Game kicked off in Manchester and went as one might expect - for City. They passed and passed and passed some more as the team playing like the underdogs - Arsenal, one point ahead of them in the table - sat back like obedient canines, waiting for their owner to throw the Tennis ball and give chase.

It didn’t happen, at least not in the first half, and the tactical writers in the world of online football consumption promised us that we had seen a miracle of a performance on this special day. Nobody believed them, however, and we saw pretty much the same thing happen after the break, albeit with a glaring miss from Haaland who will be having nightmares about David Raya grabbing at his shoelaces.

Which teams could get relegated from the Premier League?

Sheffield United are all but gone as Chris Wilder still hates sandwiches. Above them sit Burnley, who continue to try out their Guardiola-inspired Football without any of the talent of the Manchester club.

Completing the relegation zone are the best ever worst team in the history of the Premier League: Luton Town. Reading the press in England one might be tricked into thinking they actually are fighting for glory at the top. But they’re 18th and level on points with naughty boys Nottingham Forest.

Everton are three ahead of them and relegation would be just as financially devastating for the side who are building a new stadium on Merseyside. I don’t know what’s worse for the Toffees, playing in the Championship or global warming eating up their 50,000 seater sat at sea-level.

And then we’ve got Brentford and Crystal Palace, who are probably out of the relegation race but can’t afford to get complacent as the clock ticks on in this fascinating season at both ends of the division.
