Porsche Design Enters Bangkok with Luxury Residence and Creative Space
Porsche Design has big plans for Bangkok. In August, the German design studio partnered with Ananda Development, one of Thailand’s leading real estate companies, to launch Curvistan Bangkok, a café, bar, lounge, and gallery curated by Stefan Bogner from Curves Magazine. Coinciding with the opening, they also unveiled plans for Porsche Design Tower Bangkok, the first of its kind in Asia.
Curvistan Bangkok: The Ultimate Porsche Clubhouse
Located in the heart of the city, Curvistan Bangkok offers a place for Porsche enthusiasts to gather, relax, and explore the brand’s rich legacy. Among the rarities shown inside the space are a classic Porsche 928 and relics stretching back to the ‘70s from Porsche Design. With floor-to-ceiling windows spanning the two-storey facade, a rotating show car, an orange spiral staircase, and furniture pieces curated by VITRA, are immediately visible from the outside. Out back, a large track-shaped area allows offers a place for the local Porsche community to park their cars and hang out. During the opening, the community came out in full force as we were greeted with revs from a Wally’s Jeans Porsche 911 930 customised by Rauh-Welt-Begriff, a Porsche 911 Dakar, and many more rarities.
“It’s more than just a place, it’s an open space where the Porsche community can connect, share their passion, and see their dreams come to life,” said Stefan Bogner, Founder and Creative Director of Curves Magazine. “Curvistan offers a unique blend of coffee shop, automotive and art gallery, and concept store, providing a vibrant experience for all Porsche enthusiasts.”
For its inaugural exhibition, Curvistan presents “Porsche: A Design Manifesto,” which explores the philosophy behind the brand — from its cars and wearables to its tech and skyscrapers. For auto and design enthusiasts planning to make a trip to Bangkok, a visit to Curvistan is a must. As for gearheads residing in the city, look for the gallery space to present new showcases every two to three months.
Porsche Design Tower: A Landmark Addition to Bangkok’s Skyline
Following its counterparts in Miami and Stuttgart, Porsche Design Tower Bangkok is the third of its kind and the first in the region. Located on Sukhumvit 38, one of the most prestigious addresses in the nation’s capital, the state-of-the-art luxury residence caters to ultra-high-net-worth individuals with 22 exclusive duplex and quadplex “Sky Villas.” Priced between US$15 million and US$40 million, the sizes of the residences range from 525 to 1,135 square meters.
Following the design philosophy of Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, founder of Porsche Design and designer of the original 911, Porsche Design Tower Bangkok is built upon the same principles that gave birth to Porsche’s motoring icons. Responsible for shaping the Bangkok skyline with its stunning IDEO and Ashton luxury condos, Ananda Development shares its dedication to aesthetic and functional excellence.
Central to the Porsche Design Bangkok Tower is “The Loop,” a spiral ramp for cars located in the middle of the building. The ramp leads directly to completely customisable luxury garages for residents dubbed “Passion Spaces.” Equipped with CO2 sensors, a humidity control system, and EV charging, the spaces can be changed to accommodate different tastes and needs — whether that be a space dedicated to showcasing the resident’s curated car collection or a mixed area equipped with additional areas for gaming, cooking, etc.
Visible on the outer façade of the building are fully automated terrace door systems installed on the residential floors. Inspired by the “Kinetic Move” of the Porsche 911 Targa roof mechanism, the system allows future residents to seamlessly blend outdoor and indoor living. Another direct reference to Porsche’s automotive innovations is the “X-Frame,” an exposed pedestal structure that takes inspiration from the exoskeleton of the Porsche Mission R concept car. Found at the top of the 21-story tower with what’s dubbed, “The Crown.” Inspired by the iconic taillight design of Porsche Sportscars, an unmistakable red streak will soon illuminate the city’s skyline.
While lively attractions such as Benjakitti Park, Michelin-starred restaurants, nightlife venues, art galleries, and luxury malls, are right around the corner, the tower itself offers a compelling reason to stay in on the weekends. In addition to the personal collector’s garages and private pools, each unit will include professional-grade Thai, Western, and semi-outdoor barbecue kitchen styles. In the shared spaces, Porsche Design Tower Bangkok includes a 25-meter swimming pool, a performance fitness center, a spa, a social lounge, and a Business lounge.
Construction for Asia’s first Porsche Design Tower begins in 2025 and the project is set to be completed in 2028.
