Since winning their second consecutive Super Bowl title, there have been a number of off-the-field issues that have taken the shine off of the Kansas City Chiefs’ budding dynasty. The latest of those appears to be a rather nasty car accident that involved one of the team’s pass catchers as well as five other cars. Let’s get into what we know.

Police are after Chiefs’ Rashee Rice

According to reports, a six vehicle car crash on Saturday in Dallas, Texas has resulted in a police search for Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice. Indeed, reports state that a vehicle believed to be registered or leased to Rice was involved in an accident at 6:20 p.m. local time on Saturday.

To that end, Dallas police spokeswoman Kristin Lowman explained that the preliminary investigation showed an individual in a Chevrolet Corvette as well as one in a Lamborghini speeding in the far left lane when both drivers lost control. The Lamborghini went onto the shoulder and “hit the center median wall, causing a chain reaction collision involving four other vehicles,” Lowman said. At this time it remains unclear as to whether Rice was present at the scene of the accident, however, the 23-year-old is listed as the suspected driver of the Corvette in the police call sheet on the news.

Understandably, police are now searching for Rice but whether he is facing charges over the accident has not been stated and his name has also not been recorded in Dallas County’s jail records as of Sunday morning. Regarding the accident itself, two individuals required medical attention for minor injuries at the crash site, while two others were transported to the hospital with what were referred to as minor injuries. It is understood that in the moments immediately after the accident, the individuals in both the Lamborghini and Corvette fled the scene, failing to provide information to authorities or to check on those who were hurt. As for Rice himself, the Texas native spent his childhood in Fort Worth and even attended college in Dallas at SMU.
