It’s no mystery that music has a therapeutic effect. For thousands of years, music has been cheering up and comforting humans.

And if this video is anything to do by, it has that effect on Animals too.

When pianist Paul Barton visited a group of traumatized elephants, he just knew he had to play the piano for them.

Once he started hitting the keys of his piano, the elephants stood in a trance for hours listening to him play. What a wondrous moment!

Today, Paul’s music therapy has helped many suffering elephants cope with their lives.

Some of these elephants are blind and sick, while others have lost their homes and families to expansive human activities.

But when they hear Paul’s music, they drop whatever they are doing and run to him for solace.

In this video, we see baby elephant Saiyok and his mom sprinting to Paul the moment they hear his music.

While mama elephant stands still and lets the music rejuvenate her soul, Saiyok wants to join in and play his own set with Paul.

Saiyok is still young and untouched by the world’s horrors, and his adorable reaction to Paul is filled with pure innocence.

Watch this video with your volume up to truly absorb the beauty of Paul’s soulful music.

It is rare to see musicians branch out towards animal-healing, and Paul has our full respect and support for his wonderful endeavor!
