The Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Mets meet Saturday in MLB action from Citi Field. Here’s a NY Mets vs Philadelphia Phillies Prediction. This will be the third installment in a four-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Mets vs Phillies pick.

Philadelphia Phillies Betting Preview

Philadelphia played the Milwaukee Brewers in their last series. The Phillies won 5-1 Tuesday but lost the other pair in that set. After a 10-6 loss to the Mets Thursday, in Game two Philadelphia powered out a 12-2 win. Christopher Sanchez lasted 5.0 innings with two earned in the start.

The starter for Saturday will be Philly’s Ranger Suarez. This year Suarez is 12-7 with a 3.13 ERA in 25 starts. Suarez is 41-28 with a 3.34 ERA in 159 career Games (91 starts).

Over on the Mets’ side, they were able to sweep the Washington Nationals in their last series with wins 2-1, 10-1 and 10-0. On Friday New York gave up 17 hits and blew an early 2-0 lead in the defeat.

It’ll be Sean Manaea in the start for the Mets on Saturday. So far Manaea is 11-5 with a 3.26 ERA in 30 starts. Manaea is 76-61 with a 3.98 ERA in 226 Games (196 starts).

NY Mets vs Philadelphia Phillies Prediction

I’m staying with the Mets. Manaea had a shaky start versus the Reds on September 6, going 6.2 innings with four earned. Since then, however, Manaea has just two earned in 13.2 total innings. As for Suarez, he’s given up seven earned over his last 10.1 innings in two starts.

On Friday the Mets could only find four team hits—with two of them belonging to Jose Iglesias (solo homer) New York suffered a rough pitching outing Friday, and they’ll pretty much need a complete reset for Game three.
