New hospital in Rhode Island: Encompass Health Rehabilitation opening in Johnston
Encompass Health, the nation’s largest owner and operator of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, hosted a grand opening for Encompass Health Rehabilitation of Johnston. The 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital, located at 2109 Hartford Avenue, is expected to begin serving patients within weeks.
The hospital will provide essential rehabilitative services that help patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions regain function and independence. Patients will receive a minimum of three hours of intensive therapy for five days each week, frequent physician visits and 24-hour nursing care.
Hospital amenities will include private patient rooms, a spacious therapy gym featuring advanced rehabilitation technologies, an activities of daily living suite, in-house dialysis suite, therapy courtyard, dining room, in-house pharmacy and dayroom area.
An interdisciplinary team of highly specialized nurses, therapists and physicians will provide physical, occupational and speech therapies to restore functional ability and quality of life.
“The opening of this hospital represents a new chapter of hope, healing and independence for many individuals in our community,” said Daniel Parkinson, CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Johnston. “We look forward to providing compassionate, high-quality rehabilitative care to help our patients get back to what matters most.”
