Bronny James’ decision to enter the 2024 NBA Draft sent major reverberations throughout the sports world.

Most expected Bronny to return to school for one more year.

Instead, he will try his hand in the pros.

The Los Angeles Lakers have frequently been mentioned as a landing spot for Bronny because of his dad, and this week Rachel Nichols explained what L.A.’s approach would be in that situation.

This week, Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer spoke with a number of NBA scouts. They offered an interesting assessment of Bronny’s skillset, ceiling and what he figures to look like at the next level.

“James projects as more of a disrupter,” O’Connor wrote.

“Comparisons that came up in these conversations include Patrick Beverley, Davion Mitchell, and Norris Cole. Beverley has had the longest career of the three because he’s the best shooter (37 percent from 3 in his career).

“Mitchell has yet to figure out his shot with the Kings, while Cole won two titles with LeBron [James] in Miami before flaming out, in part because his shot never developed. But all three of them were respectable defenders. Bronny will have to follow in their footsteps to catch on with a winning team.”

Having a career like Beverley’s may not jump off the page, but he is currently a pivotal cog in the Bucks’ system. Plus, he is very respected around the league.

There is a lot of excitement surrounding Bronny and what his next move will be.

At the moment, it still feels like he will simply return to college for one more year – albeit with a different program.

But when the James family is involved, anything could happen.

Where will Bronny ultimately be playing basketball in 2024? Time will tell.
