NBA Playoff Same Game Parlay Picks: Davis Shines in SGP on Saturday

The NBA playoffs are tipping off today, with several intriguing matchups in what's shaping up to be one of the most exciting first rounds in recent memory. 

Upsets could abound and franchise arcs altered in the next couple of weeks, and with all eyes on the Association, it's a natural time for bettors to get involved with some same-Game parlays.

Our betting experts have scoured through today's NBA odds to find your best SGP bets for each of the four Game 1s on Saturday's playoff slate: 

Magic vs Cavaliers same-game parlay (SGP)

The Magic are a tasty underdog today, with their smothering defense set to test the Cavs’ resolve under intense playoff scrutiny.

They won the most recent meeting in Cleveland (admittedly against a Mitchell-less Cavs team) and, if Franz Wagner can deliver alongside Banchero, the visitors could make some early noise. I’m happy taking the points for my SGP.

Donovan Mitchell’s future in Cleveland is uncertain but he has some stunning playoff performances on his resume, and the hosts should be able to count on big numbers from their star man.

But with Jalen Suggs and Jonathan Isaac pestering him on the perimeter and taking away driving lanes, Mitchell may have to settle for a few extra 3-pointers today.

He shot 37% from deep during the regular season and he’s knocked down nine triples across his past two outings. I like his chances of adding four or more here.

Suns vs Timberwolves same-game parlay (SGP)

The more Bradley Beal can play one-on-one, the less Minnesota can involve their best defenders. Conley was once an ace defender, but at 36, he’s food in isolation for an elite scorer. 

Beal has been one lately shooting 59.6% from the field and 69.4 from three through seven April games. His ability to attack Conley is one of the pressure points I expect the Suns to pick at early and often as it keeps Edwards and McDaniels out of the action on defense.

Eventually, the Wolves will have to bring Rudy closer to the level and out of drop if the Suns are making their midrange shots. That means Jusuf Nurkic is going to have a lot of four on three opportunities as the roll man, an area he has excelled at this season.

76ers vs Knicks same-game parlay (SGP)

Jalen Brunson is averaging 37.8 points over his last 10 Games on north of 60% true shooting. He’s had 35 or more in five of his last six Games entering the playoffs, and he’ll be fresh off a five-day rest.

Brunson is going to test Embiid’s mobility. He’ll attack him pulling up from deep as well as in the midrange. If he’s not moving well, Jalen will target him mercilessly.

Oddsmakers have finally gotten wise to Josh Hart’s rebounding prowess, however he should be heavily featured on Saturday as a playmaker. 

The 76ers are going to trap Brunson a lot, and to counteract it the Knicks will do a lot of guard-to-guard screening. Hart is going to play a Draymond Green-like role, attacking downhill and making passes to corner shooters.

Lakers vs Nuggets same-game parlay (SGP)

Anthony Davis doesn't always log a ton of minutes during the regular season but he seldom comes off the floor in the playoffs. Davis averaged 26.8 ppg in 41.2 mpg in the conference finals against Denver last year. When you look at the eight most recent Games where AD played 30+ minutes, he scored at least 30 points in five of them.

These teams have faced off twice since the start of the New Year, with Jamal Murray dropping 29 points and dishing out 11 assists in February while scoring 24 points with 11 assists last month. While those assist numbers are extremely impressive, they are also out of the ordinary for Murray, who tends to shoot more during the postseason. 

Since 2020, Murray has averaged 26.3 ppg across 39 playoff contests, and he averaged 32.5 ppg in the Western Conference Finals versus the Lakers last year. Taking the Over on Murray's points and backing the Lakers on the spread creates a nice multiplier for this SGP.
