The Glasgow Derby is always one of the biggest games of the season but for Celtic and Rangers, the upcoming Parkhead clash has the potential to decide the destiny of where the league title will end up.

With Brendan Rodgers’ side sitting three points clear and with a goal difference of +5, a win on Saturday would make the title an almost foregone conclusion.

Unless Celtic collapses and loses their final two games of the season and Rangers record healthy wins, Philippe Clement’s hopes of clawing back a six-point lead although not impossible, look highly unlikely.

But Celtic do still have to beat Rangers on Saturday and speaking after the weekend results, Michael Stewart has given his prediction on how the big Game could go.

Stewart ‘not sure’ Rangers can beat Celtic

The BBC pundit is generally very fair but outspoken in his opinions on the game and here he explains why he not entirely convinced Rangers can walk out of Celtic Park with the positive result they need next weekend.

Stewart said [Sportscene], “I mean look, Rangers need to win the game. There’s no doubt about that.

“Who’s going to win it? I think for me, when you see Celtic with the players back, they are in a good position.

“They’ve got their main players back, they’re hitting that form and the final piece of the jigsaw is having James Forrest, a wide player who has an end product.

“So I think it’s going to be very difficult to see Rangers coming away with three points. Anything can happen and it’s achievable.

“They can do it, I’m just not sure they’ll be able to.”

Of course, anything is possible in these games and not one Celtic fan will be taking a win for granted despite being at home.

With everything to play for, Celtic do have the advantage of a packed Parkhead and with 60,000 supporters cheering them on, that could be enough to get them over the line.

However, the team needs to continue to show the good form they have been in over the last few weeks. Especially against Hearts on Saturday.

Because if that Celtic team turns up, the fans will be confident that the three points will stay in Paradise along with the league trophy.
