The Atlanta Falcons and the Miami Dolphins meet Friday in NFL preseason action from Hard Rock Stadium. Here’s a Miami Dolphins vs Atlanta Falcons prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Dolphins vs Falcons pick.

Atlanta Falcons Betting Preview

The Falcons didn’t have the greatest campaign in the 2023 season. Atlanta finished at 7-10 overall, landing in third place in the NFC South. In the final five Games the Falcons stumbled to a 1-4 record and were eliminated from playoff contention in Week 18 when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Carolina Panthers.

The good news for the Falcons is that things are looking up in 2024. The team has stability at quarterback after committing to a now-Healthy Kirk Cousins and drafting Michael Penix in the first round as an insurance policy. Even with losses including Cordarrelle Patterson and Jonnu Smith, there are plenty of weapons around them.

Miami Dolphins Betting Preview

Over on the Dolphins’ side, they improved on their 9-8 record from the previous two seasons in 2023, going 11-6 overall and securing a second-place finish in the AFC East. Miami’s playoff run stopped quickly however, as they lost 26-7 to the eventual-champion Kansas City Chiefs in the Wild Card Playoffs.

Heading into 2024, the Dolphins’ main goal will be to win a playoff game—something they haven’t done since 2000. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been great in the current system, and he’ll have a pair of productive RBs in De’Von Achane and Raheem Mostert behind him.

Miami Dolphins vs Atlanta Falcons Prediction

I’ll lean toward the Dolphins at home here. Preseason Games are always a dice-roll proposition—especially the openers—but Miami has plenty of depth and experience on the roster this year. Many pundits are picking the Dolphins to be one of the best teams in the league, and if the offense can stay Healthy they’ll thrive. Defensively Miami is pretty average (on paper at least) but they won’t need to be dominant if the offense is hanging a ton of points on the other side.
