Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he met with Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly after Monday evening's 3-2 win over Newcastle United.

The Blues secured a crucial win over the Magpies at Stamford Bridge on Monday thanks to goals from Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer and substitute Mykhailo Mudryk, edging them three points closer to contention for European qualification.

The victory helped ease the pressure on Pochettino's shoulders which has been building in the past few weeks, with rumours swirling about his future at the club.

Following the win over Newcastle, Pochettino revealed that he chatted with Boehly at Stamford Bridge and insisted he retains a positive relationship with the co-owners, despite reports of growing tensions behind the scenes.

"Yes, he came with his son, and I think Behdad [Eghbali]," Pochettino said when asked if he'd met with Boehly after the Game.

"All of the owners were there. Yes, it was a nice chat, only a few minutes because I needed to come for the interview and the press conference. Yes, it was good, the relationship is good."

Ex-Chelsea managers Jose Mourinho and Thomas Tuchel have both been linked with potentially taking over from Pochettino in recent weeks, with Chelsea fans even chanting the former's name during a recent game at Stamford Bridge.

Tuchel, despite his previous rift with the club's new ownership group, is reportedly open to returning to Chelsea at the end of the 2023/24 season if Boehly and the owners decide to change direction.

90min understands the plan with Pochettino has always been to hold what sources describe as a two-way appraisal at the end of the season, with both manager and owners to be given the chance to give their thoughts on continuing together.
