Masters Golf 3-ball Picks and Predictions for the Third Round | Pickswise
The Masters is behind schedule due to inclement weather, but with a relatively clear forecast on Sunday there is a chance the tournament can avoid a Monday finish. Saturday simply avoiding a complete washout has to be considered a success. Round two was completed and a decent chunk of round 3 was able to be played. When play was suspended for the rest of the day at 3:00 pm ET, the final group of Brooks Koepka, Jon Rahm and Sam Bennett had played 6 holes. Everyone will come back out at 8:30 am ET – weather permitting – in hopes of finishing up the penultimate round in a reasonably timely fashion.
With that, it’s time to dive into some of the best 3-ball bets for the in-progress third round of the season’s first major.

Collin Morikawa (+165) to beat Viktor Hovland and Jason Day
At 5-under par and 8 strokes off the lead, Collin Morikawa and Viktor Hovland are not entirely out of it and nor is Jason Day (4-under). They need only one guy (Koepka) to really collapse as everyone else on the leaderboard is easily catchable.
Hovland (+140) is the favorite of this group. The Norwegian is 1-over so far, along with both Morikawa and Day (+225). There is some value on Day as the clear underdog, but my best bet is on Morikawa. The American is by far the most trustworthy of this group. Hovland can be expected to struggle in rough conditions when greens in regulation are hard to come by even for the best ball-strikers. The Norwegian will have to use his short Game, which is always dicey.

Brooks Koepka (-115) to beat Jon Rahm and Sam Bennett
At close to even money to win his group, Koepka has good value. Rahm (-105) is already 1-over for the round, while Koepka is 1-under. Bennett (+1500) is a massive underdog for obvious reasons. Not only is he an amateur, but is already 2-over in round 3. Koepka holds 4-stroke lead in the overall tournament over Rahm (7 over Bennett), so he can play conservative golf in what will probably be difficult conditions on Sunday morning. Playing conservatively isn’t always a good thing, but when the scoring is difficult it likely is a productive strategy. Rahm and Bennett, on the other hand, have to go pin-hunting if they want to get back in contention. That can be a recipe for disaster at times.
As we saw about 4 years ago, when Koepka gets on a roll he is difficult to beat – especially at majors. He is certainly rolling now.
