This is a pivotal game for both the Magic and the 76ers, as the Magic can win the Southeast Division with a victory, but the 76ers can also move one step closer to avoiding the Play-In Tournament with a win of their own. Only one game separates the 76ers from the Magic and the Indiana Pacers in the standings.

My analysis
This is a massive game for both the Magic and the 76ers, but it's also filled with some unknown injury statuses on both sides to key players. Joel Embiid is questionable for the 76ers, and Franz Wagner is questionable for the Magic. Embiid is questionable for injury maintenance, whereas Wagner has missed the last two games for the Magic with an ankle injury. 

Here's what we do know: Tyrese Maxey is playing for the 76ers as he is off the injury report. Maxey is a blur in the open court and one of the fastest players with the ball in the NBA. Luckily for the Magic, they have a point-of-attack defender who can defend Maxey in Jalen Suggs. With Maxey playing for the 76ers, it creates a scenario where Suggs' minutes feel very secure, and there's also a chance that they are elevated because of the matchup and the magnitude of the Game. 

Since I'm expecting minutes for Suggs, I'm going after one of his player props, and it's the Over on his points prop trading at 11.5 (-115). This is where the questionable tag on Wagner also comes into play, because if Wagner plays, I still like this number for Suggs, but if Wagner is ruled out once again, this bet for Suggs just gets even better. 

Suggs isn't just a defensive stopper for the Magic at this point in the season; they need his offense. When Wagner was out against the Milwaukee Bucks, Suggs and Paolo Banchero were the only two starters capable of generating offense. Not only can Suggs create off of the bounce, but they need his 3-point shooting to help space the floor for Banchero. 

Another reason why I like Suggs to go Over his points prop is that if Embiid does play for the 76ers, the Magic are going to need some transition offense where they score before Embiid makes it down the floor. Suggs is that player; he can push tempo and loves to attack the rim in transition. 

Suggs is projected to score 13.1 points on Friday against the 76ers, which allows us to price the Over 11.5 points at -136, but it is available at -115 at FanDuel. Also, remember, this projection is with Wagner playing; his usage would only increase if Wagner is ruled out.

Magic vs 76ers same-game parlay (SGP)

I'm going to keep this very simple and make our SGP all about Suggs. I said it in our best bet that I expected elevated minutes for Suggs because of the matchup with Maxey and the magnitude of the game for the Magic franchise. For that reason, my best bet is Over 11.5 points, but with our SGP, I think we can get a little more aggressive. 

Give me Suggs to score 15+ points and make Over 2.5 threes, as we should see him take several attempts from beyond the arc. If he's going to hit the alternate Over for his points, it will be with help from his three-ball. I also like Suggs to grab Over 2.5 rebounds against the 76ers.
