Lukas Gage shuts down romance rumors with ‘Saltburn’ star Archie Madekwe after shocking divorce from Chris Appleton
Lukas Gage is setting the record straight about his relationship with Archie Madekwe after he introduced the “Saltburn” star as his husband while attending a Vanity Fair party last week.
“No, we’re not married,” the “White Lotus” star quipped in an interview with TMZ while at the Los Angeles International Airport Saturday. “We are friends.”
He appeared to be in a chipper mood while chatting with the paparazzo, adding, “Archie’s the best.”
Gage, 28, further said that it isn’t annoying being romantically linked to his pal, saying, “I’ll take it as a compliment. Archie is a hottie. He’s a good one.”
The “You” star sparked romance rumors with Madekwe, 29, when he told TMZ Wednesday that he was married to the “MidsoMMAr” actor.
“Yeah this is my new husband,” he joked after paparazzi asked if they were together upon seeing the duo walk into the VF gathering at Bar Marmont in Hollywood.
Gage is currently focusing on himself following his split from husband Chris Appleton despite dabbling with a few dating apps.
“I took a break from them,” he told TMZ over the weekend. “They’re not for me right now. Right now, I’m finding myself. I’m just loving — I’m dating me.”
The actor further said he’s experienced exponential personal growth since his shocking breakup last year.
“It’s been great. It’s been a year of learning, growing, changing — yeah, just constant change,” he told People during the film premiere of his Road House film in Austin, Texas Friday.

“Life’s always changing,” he added. “Everything’s great. Yeah, it’s been really good.”
Meanwhile, Gage is currently hashing out divorce details with Appleton after the duo called it off in November 2023 following six months of marriage, per documents obtained by Page Six.
Kim Kardashian’s hairstylist cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split, though he and Gage were reportedly not on good terms.
“This is not where they wanted this to end up,” a source told Us Weekly at the time. ”It will take time for both to get to a place where they can move past this and get on with their lives.”
The former couple tied the knot on April 22, 2023 in Las Vegas in a small ceremony officiated by the SKIMS founder.
