As the Celtic players begin to trickle back to Lennoxtown for pre-season, fans are hoping for an increase in transfer activity from the Scottish champions over the next few weeks.

So far, the summer has been stale regarding news about potential incoming or outgoings.

Few players have been concretely linked with moves to Parkhead, but we do know there are several positions in the squad which Brendan Rodgers would like strengthened.

Goalkeeper is an obvious one, but another is at the top end of the park. Adam Idah’s impact after he was signed on loan from Norwich was clear for all to see, but the situation surrounding a permanent move for the Irishman remains unclear.

Celtic may well have to move on to other striking targets and a man they have been continually linked with for around a year now is Mathias Kvistgaarden.

He said in March that moving abroad is something he didn’t want to consider just yet but now, he seems to have changed his tune.

Recently, the 22-year-old was recently asked if he was ready for a move to another European league.

“There is no doubt about that”, he said (Campo via RecordSport).

“I think I have shown myself in a lot of ways, which means that I have shown that I can hopefully also play internationally at some point.”

With 17 goal contributions in 28 Games in the season gone by, Kvistgaarden does have promise.

At 22, he still has a wealth of development to undergo but would be a signing which encapsulates Celtic’s transfer model.
