Kyogo Furuhashi Rises To The Occasion Against Hearts
Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi demonstrated why he has established himself as the top striker in Scotland over the last three years against Hearts this afternoon.
Kyogo has, at times, looked out of Games, failing to contribute much.
However, this afternoon, he was simply at the very top of his Game, with his header and volleyed goal outstanding.
Criticism of the Japanese striker has gone overboard this season.
With 13 league goals, a respectable tally, he hasn’t reached the heights of the previous two seasons.
However, that has more to do with an adjustment in the playing style of Celtic.
Brendan Rodgers’ playing style clearly has distinct differences compared to that of Ange Postecoglou, particularly in how much the striker is involved.
This means that Kyogo has had to, at times, adapt to a different style of play.
With one clear difference the amount of headed goals he is scoring, which is a real positive.
Despite not being the most aerially imposing of strikers, Kyogo has shown that with the timing of his runs, he has an advantage even over the most physical defenders in the space he creates for himself.
