Jax Taylor says he and Brittany Cartwright are living together again after split: ‘This is not divorce’
Jax Taylor insists his split with Brittany Cartwright “is not divorce.”
“We’re together. We’re living in our home right now,” Taylor tells Page Six while leaving a gym Thursday evening — just hours after Cartwright announced that they are “taking time apart.”
Cartwright previously revealed she and Taylor have been living under separate roofs since splitting, but he says things have already progressed rather quickly.
“She was in a house for a while, but yeah, she’s back now.”
The pair were spotted living separately days before the separation announcement, as Taylor was photographed visiting Cartwright Monday at what appeared to be her new residence in Sherman Oaks, Calif. They share a house in Valley Village.
Taylor, who isn’t wearing his wedding ring, adds that they’re trying to “figure out” their next steps and that their split “is all fresh and new.”
“It’s not evil or nastiness,” the 44-year-old assures us. “It’s just two people that you now are hitting a 10-year mark in their marriage.”
“We’re just spending some time apart and just trying to re-assess, you know, our situation,” he further explains. “We have a child involved and we just wanna do what’s best for our kid.”
Taylor and Cartwright, 35, walked down the aisle in June 2019 after dating for four years. Their relationship was documented on “Vanderpump Rules.”
They welcomed their son, Cruz Michael Cauchi, into the world in April 2022.
The mother of one addressed their split on her and Taylor’s podcast, “When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany,” on Thursday.
“Yes, marriages in general are very hard and I’ve had a particularly rough year this past year,” she reflected.
“Jax and I are taking time apart and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental Health.”
“I’m taking things one day at a time,” Cartwright continued. “I don’t know what the future holds, but right now my focus is on being the best mom to Cruz.”
She did not divulge what led to their separation.
Taylor and Cartwright were announced as part of the “Vanderpump Rules” spinoff series, titled “The Valley,” in January.
Amidst fan speculation that their separation was a publicity stunt, a rep told Page Six exclusively that it was “most definitely not PR related in any way.”
The estranged couple stepped away from Bravo cameras in 2020, making “The Valley” their first reality show in several years.
They previously starred in their own spinoff, “Jax & Brittany Take Kentucky.”
