How Much Celtic FC Women will bank after Champions League Qualification
Celtic FC Women have achieved a significant milestone by qualifying for the UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage, ensuring a financial boost for the club.
They are the first Scottish club to qualify for the comPetition.
Following their 2-0 victory over FK Vorskla Poltava on Thursday at Airdrie’s Excelsior Stadium, which secured a 3-0 aggregate win, Celtic have now guaranteed themselves a base allocation of €400,000 for participating in the group stages.
In addition to the base payout, the financial incentives for performance include €50,000 for each group stage win and €17,000 for a draw. Advancing further in the comPetition brings additional rewards: a €20,000 bonus for topping their group, €160,000 for reaching the quarter-finals, €180,000 for making the semi-finals, and substantial sums for the finalists—€200,000 for the runners-up and €350,000 for the champions. That’s some great money for the women’s side to earn this season, and it’s all down to the hard work of the manager and players.
The achievement marks a remarkable progression under the leadership of Elena Sadiku, and it heralds an exciting phase for the team and the club as a whole.
Congratulations to the players, coaching staff, and everyone involved at Celtic FC Women on this outstanding accomplishment, and best of luck to them in the comPetition.
