The Colorado Rockies and the Houston Astros meet Wednesday in MLB action from Minute Maid Park. Here’s a Houston Astros vs Colorado Rockies prediction. This will be the second installment in a quick two-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the Game.

Colorado Rockies Betting Preview

The Rockies played the Washington Nationals in their weekend series. Colorado won 8-7 in the Saturday matchup but otherwise fell 11-5 and 2-1 to drop the set. On Tuesday versus the Astros, the Rockies took a 5-2 loss. Starter Austin Gomber lasted 5.1 innings with five earned runs.

In the starter role for the Wednesday Game the Rockies are sending out Ryan Feltner. This year in his 15 starts Feltner is 1-6 with a 6.02 ERA. Feltner is 7-20 with a 6.05 career ERA in 47 Games (46 starts).

Houston Astros Betting Preview

Over on the Astros’ side, they took on the Baltimore Orioles in their last set. Houston did well in that one, notching a three-Game sweep with wins 14-11, 5-1 and 8-1. On Tuesday against Colorado, Houston scored all their runs in the first inning. Hunter Brown put up 6.0 clean frames in the start with two hits and three walks.

Spencer Arrighetti will take the mound for the starter role on Wednesday. So far this year Arrighetti is 3-6 with a 6.36 ERA and 65 Ks in 58.0 innings over the first 13 starts of his career.

Houston Astros vs Colorado Rockies Prediction

I’ll probably go with the Astros. Also probably not touching it. Both starters could use a good showing here. Arrighetti has 10 combined earned runs over 5.2 innings on 10 hits and two walks over his last pair. As for Feltner, he’s given up 10 earned over his last two starts in 11.2 innings of work. We could have a lot of fireworks at the plate early if neither guy is on point.

On Tuesday the Astros posted nine team hits and couldn’t score outside of the electric first inning. Houston got three hits from Jake Meyers and two RBI from Chas McCormick and the pitching staff did the rest. I like the Astros to keep going Wednesday.
