PFA Scotland has revealed its Scottish Premiership Team of the Year for 2024, with four Celtic stars featuring in the team.

Cameron Carter-Vickers and Liam Scales secure two of the back four spots in the team, while Celtic captain Callum McGregor and Matt O’Riley are also named as part of the midfield.

The entire squad was voted for by fellow players in the Scottish Premiership, with four spots out of eleven, the highest representation of any team in the Premiership.

Of Celtic’s four spots, Liam Scales undeniably represents one of the most remarkable turnarounds in recent memory.

The Irishman has had a remarkable season at Celtic Park, having appeared likely to depart permanently in the summer to Aberdeen after a successful loan spell at the Dons last season.

Cameron Carter-Vickers continues to impress with his performances at the heart of defence, establishing himself as the number one defender in Scottish Football.

Despite spells of the season out with injury, whenever he has played, Carter-Vickers has been unstoppable and will likely go down as one of Celtic’s best defenders of the past 20 years.

Matt O’Riley has truly had a breakout season this year, with the Danish midfielder taking his Game to a whole new level.

His remarkable return of 13 goals and 11 assists in 32 league Games from the heart of midfield is truly impressive.

Callum McGregor remains the epitome of consistency, demonstrating his reliability as Celtic’s captain and the ultimate professional.

His performance against Rangers at Celtic Park in December showcased his unmatched abilities in defending, dribbling, and passing, reaffirming his status as one of the greatest midfielders in Celtic’s History.

As he returns to the starting 11 this afternoon against Aberdeen at Hampden, McGregor’s impact will be vital.
