Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Yankees
October 28, 2024 8:08 pm EDT

Major League Baseball presents FanDuel baseball fans with a World Series matchup featuring the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Let’s take a look at this MLB game from a DFS perspective.

Before we dive into the New York Yankees vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Game let’s review the rules for the FanDuel MLB single Game showdown contest.

FanDuel Single Game Contest Rules

Here are the FanDuel single game contest rules. You have $60,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team MVP. The MVP accumulates 2x times the standard FanDuel fantasy points value.

The remaining four players in your lineup will be one star and three flex plays. The star player will receive 1.5x the standard fantasy points value. The final three flex positions will receive the standard FanDuel points value. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your MVP position if you hope to win a large field GPP (guaranteed prize pool) FanDuel single Game contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game contest, I highly recommend that you check out the FanDuel website for more details.

*It should be noted that FanDuel does not utilize the pitcher position in single game MLB contests. Having stated that, only batters are available for single game MLB lineups on the FanDuel platform.

Here are my FanDuel picks for this evening’s Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Yankees matchup.

FanDuel MLB Player Selections

MVP-Giancarlo Stanton, Outfielder, New York Yankees $7,500

On Monday evening, Major League Baseball presents the third game of the 2024 World Series featuring the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

How are these two teams playing entering this MLB playoff game? The Los Angeles Dodgers arrive at the third game of the 2024 World Series playing rather good baseball. The Dodgers have won 18 of the team’s last 24 games played this season, including a dominating 2-0 shutout victory over the San Diego Padres last week.

Similar to the Los Angeles Dodgers, the New York Yankees have been playing quality baseball recently. The Yankees have won seven of the team’s last 11 games played this season, including a 5-2 win over the Cleveland Guardians eight days ago.

It should be noted that the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees 4-2 in last night’s Game 2 of the 2024 World Series.

Now that we have determined how both of these Major League Baseball teams are currently playing let’s shift our focus to this evening’s Game 2 of the 2024 World Series.

New York outfielder Giancarlo Stanton has certainly been a key contributor to the Yankees offense this season. Let’s review Stanton’s game data from the 2024 MLB season to better shed light on my previous statement.

Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton arrives at the third game of the 2024 World Series playing quality baseball. More specifically, in his last nine games played for the Yankees this season, Stanton has compiled 11 hits (five home runs), nine RBIs (runs batted in), six runs scored, one stolen base, and four walks in 39 plate appearances. Full transparency, I backed Stanton in my last article. I see no reason to pivot away from him for tonight’s Game 3 of the 2024 World Series.

In summary, I am rolling with New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton at the MVP position for this one game MLB DFS slate.

Star-Juan Soto, Outfielder, New York Yankees $8,500

In the last eight Games that outfielder Juan Soto has played for the New York Yankees this season, Juan Soto accumulated 11 hits (four home runs), eight runs scored, eight RBIs (runs batted in) and six walks in 36 plate appearances. It has to be said, those are the type of DFS numbers I need to see from a player that I select at the star position for a FanDuel MLB single Game contest.

Flex plays I like to play well (FanDuel price noted): Mookie Betts, Second Baseman (Los Angeles Dodgers) $8,000: Aaron Judge, Outfielder (New York Yankees) $9,000.
