The Irishman burst onto the scene in the English Premier League over a year ago, scoring several goals for a high-flying Seagulls team.

His form has fallen off a cliff of late, but Ferguson remains just 19 years of age.

He was recently asked who his boyhood club was and who his hero from them is.

“Celtic,” quipped Ferguson (OpenGoalSport on TikTok).

“At the minute, I’m going to say Liam Scales [is my hero].”

Ferguson regularly plays with Scales for Ireland, along with Celtic striker Adam Idah.

A high-potential young player, the Scottish Premiership champions have never made a move for Ferguson, despite him having been on a few trials with the club when he was younger.

The teenager was asked if the Bhoys had ever tried to sign him.

“No, I don’t think so,” he said.

“I went on a few trials when I was younger.”

Although he hasn’t been in form recently, Ferguson’s talent cannot be denied, given that he has scored 12 English Premier League goals at just 19.

Having moved to Brighton from Bohemians in his homeland at only 16 years old, one can only assume his Celtic trial was before that.

Seeing him in the Hoops would have been intriguing, but Ferguson is now worth over £35m (Transfermarkt), so a move to his boyhood club will likely never transpire.
